Holidays in Austria:

If you have some time to spare before or after the congress, there are numerous possibilities to further explore the beautiful country of Austria with its many historic landmarks and breathtaking natural scenery.

Please find below a few suggestions of which major cities to visit, plus a website where you can look for the best offers and hotels.

Austria borders eight other countries, namely: Germany and the Czech Republic in the North, Liechtenstein and Switzerland in the West, Italy and Slovenia in the South, and, finally Hungary and Slovakia in the East. The Italian border, for example, is only some 30 km from Innsbruck. Famous Italian cities such as Verona or Venice can even be visited on a day tour.

Visit Venice

Venice is one of Italy’s most fascinating cities. The city stretches across 117 small islands in the marshy Venetian Lagoon along the Adriatic Sea in northeast Italy. Strolling along the winding streets and the canals, sitting on a terrace with a proper cup of coffee, a glass of wine or 'Grappa', and breathing in the atmosphere of this dazzling city, to see Venice at least once is a must! Along the Canale Grande are various piazzas, churches and monasteries, most of them accessible to the public. The main sights are centred at and around the piazza San Marco. Besides presenting an abundance of impressive architectural diversity, several buildings also house museums and/or galleries.
